IRON MAIDEN Fan Club Member Discusses Her Upcoming Appearance On 'Mastermind'

October 5, 2007

Britain's Bexhill-On-Sea Observer reports: IRON MAIDEN might not seem like the obvious choice for a teacher's specialist subject on "Mastermind", but St Bede's science technician Rachel Hobbs (photo) fell for the band when just seven years old.

Rachel, who teaches at the senior school at The Dicker, was introduced to IRON MAIDEN by her mother.

She decided to brave the black chair to answer questions on the band and the episode is being shown on Monday (October 8).

Rachel travelled up to Manchester for the filming of the program.

She was in the lead after the first round with 16 points, her closest rival just one point behind.

She said, "I was worried that nerves might take over, but the adrenalin sees you through and you are just concentrating on the questions."

She now has the taste for "Mastermind" and is already in the process of applying for next year's program.

She says she will probably choose as her specialist subject the Promethea comics of Alan Moore — sci-fantasy set in an alternative now.

Rachel, 32, lives in Hailsham and last year went to an IRON MAIDEN concert at Earls Court with her mother (still a fan) and her 12-year-old daughter.
